Great Friday Shroud D - Ivory with Gold Embroidery
SHROUD D (Gr.epitaphios) used at the services of Great and Holy Friday, features a beautifully hand embroidered figure of Christ on natural white linen. The border is decorated with a colourful and richly embroidered grape vine, around which there is a late Byzantine gold perimeter of crosses and stylised floral ornaments. The troparia can be added in any language requested.
For those who wish to encase the shroud in a glass frame when it is not in use, it is important to make sure that the shroud is properly attached so as to mitigate any possibility of sagging. At your request, we will affix a special hanging solution to the back of the shroud for you.
SHROUD D is tailor made and gives the purchaser the broadest range of possible inclusions or exclusions. The troparion, in keeping with an earlier tradition, is not included in this example, however it can be added in Greek, English, Church Slavonic, Serbian or any other language or script.
