Great Friday Shroud C - Gold with Gold Embroidery
SHROUD C (Gr.epitaphios) used at the services of Great and Holy Friday features a beautifully hand embroidered scene of the figure of Christ attended by angels. It is mounted on fine white linen and the entire shroud is covered with gold and silver embroidery and adorned with late Byzantine decorative motifs. The four Evangelical Beasts are featured in the corners of the scene with the lettering done in rich gold thread. The perimeter is trimmed with gold bullion fringes and is lined with gold taffeta.
For those who wish to encase the shroud in a glass frame when it is not in use, it is important to make sure that the shroud is properly attached so as to mitigate any possibility of sagging. At your request, we will affix a special hanging solution to the back of the shroud for you.
SHROUD C is available in one standard size:
38 x 28 inches (96cm x 72cm)
The troparia can be embroidered in Greek, English, Church Slavonic, Serbian or any other language or script.
