Following years of research and planning, in May of 2008 a fresh approach to the design and manufacture of Orthodox liturgical vestments and ecclesiastical embroidery was launched in the Serbian capital Belgrade.

Since then, the creative team of RIZA, a wholly Church owned and operated workshop, has presented ranges of unique and finely crafted vestments and embroideries to Orthodox clergy, parishes, monasteries and laypeople all over the world.

In Slavonic, the word RIZA means garment or covering. In Greek it is the name given to one of the stitches employed in Byzantine embroidery.  The name therefore of the workshop, defines its mission: to create ecclesiastical garments, embroidered in the spirit of Byzantine tradition – a tradition constantly inspiring newness, whilst recognizably one with its inheritance.
